Ritual 13 Coffee Lab

Thought I would share a great coffee experience. Ritual 13 at Coffee Lab in São Paulo. In this ritual I was able to experiment three rare types of coffees in small amounts. The wine glasses are used to allow just the right amount of oxygen to enter the cup. See Coffee Lab for more info.

Casa Mathilde- São Paulo, SP, Brazil

Casa Mathilde has to be one of the most hectic bakery/cafés I have ever been to. This place was so full of people, the second I walked in I started sweating.  Apparently, Casa Mathilde is a super popular and famous Portuguese bakery in São Paulo.  I only found out about it through another coffee fanatic…

Scada Café- São Paulo, SP, Brazil

If there were cafés in the cinemas in the U.S., I would probably be going to the movies more often.  I found Scada Café after doing some research about coffee shops in São Paulo.  I knew it was in the Shopping Bourbon, but after circling through the entire mall a few times I realized I…

Padoca do Mani- São Paulo, SP, Brazil

From the moment I arrived at Padoca do Mani last Sunday morning, I fell in love with the tiny bakery/coffee shop.  Mostly known for their various types of breads and their coffee, this place was packed all morning. Padoca do Mani is the place to be for brunch. It has a really cool atmosphere, colorful…

Octavio Café- São Paulo, SP, Brazil

Octavio Café is one of the fancier coffee places in São Paulo.  The building itself is shaped like a coffee bean! When I first walked in I was overwhelmed by all of the coffee decor, books, and equipment.  They even had their own blending station where customers can create their own coffee blends using Octavio…

Ekoa Café- São Paulo, SP, Brasil

Ekoa Cafe is located in Vila Madalena and is a peaceful spot.  The outdoor seating is beautiful and relaxing.  The indoor seating varies greatly, from tables with chairs, to comfy couches, to small reading areas. Most of the people at this cafe were doing work on their laptops or reading.  Since espresso drinks seemed to be…

Liz Cafe- São Paulo, SP, Brazil

Liz Cafe was a small coffee shop that I happened to pass by one day and decided to stop in for a cup of coffee.  The place seemed to be well-known for their variety of crepes.  I decided to go with some cafe com leite.  Unfortunately, right from the first sip I realized this coffee…

Coffee Lab- São Paulo, SP, Brazil

When I first walked into Coffee Lab I was utterly impressed.  This shop has outdoor seating with tables surrounded by plants and lights as well as indoor seating.  The inside of this coffee shop really looks like a coffee lab. The most emphasized parts are the roaster and espresso machines.  Once I looked at the menu,…

Santo Grão- São Paulo, SP, Brazil

Santo Grão has the best vibe and latte I have had so far in Brazil.  This restaurant/cafe not only has great coffee, but also has amazing fresh juices, and delicious food.  This location is build to be part sit-down restaurant and part cafe.  In the back is a coffee bar with couches and tables, while…

Flor Café- São Paulo, SP, Brazil

Flor Café was a tiny spot in the center of São Paulo that had very nice outdoor seating. It is located perfectly where the sun is setting for a nice view as you drink your coffee. Here I had the strongest cafe com leite I’ve encountered in Brazil.  The coffee was decent, but nothing special….

Café Raiz- São Paulo, SP, Brazil

Located in Perdizes, São Paulo, Café Raiz has a reputation for great coffee in the city and it did not disappoint.  Although it is a sit-down restaurant, I still very much enjoyed the vibe of this coffee spot, very relaxing and elegant.  When I looked at the menu it seemed espresso drinks (or as it is…

Lapin Café et Bistrot- São Paulo, SP, Brazil

Lapin Cafe was a restaurant designed to have the feel of a fancy french cafe.  I thought that was pretty cool, but then also realized I am in Brazil and would prefer something more culturally Brazilian.  I ordered a simple cafe com leite.  The service was sort of slow, but then I noticed the intricate…
