Coffee of the Month

A few weeks ago I finally tried my first Ruby Roasters coffee, the Burundi Nkonge, which has to be one of the best coffees I have tried so far in 2017. When I first opened the bag, the scent I got was more nutty, so I was not expecting much complex flavor in my cup. Once I bloomed this coffee on my V60 the first time I brewed it, I immediately smelled fresh grape! Never have I smelled such a defined scent while brewing coffee. Once I took the first sip, I of course tasted the grape which made this coffee pleasantly sweet, but I also tasted a subtle lavender aftertaste. Needless to say, I enjoyed this coffee so much that I flew through the entire bag very quickly. Looking forward to trying more Ruby Roaster coffees soon!
